First Grade Teacher in Lake View, NY

Salary Range: 30,000-34,500

This is a full-time position teaching First Grade in a small Catholic elementary school in the Diocese of Buffalo.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- NYS Certification in Childhood Education (1-6), or working toward
- Early Literacy experience is a plus!

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain a safe learning environment, according to school guidelines
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate and engaging lesson plans in compliance with NYS standards
- Conduct appropriate assessment to monitor student progress
- Maintain accurate records of students’ attendance and academic progress
- Communicate on a regular basis with parents/guardians
- Maintain compliance with Safe Environment requirements by attendance at a Diocesan Safe Environment workshop and completion of ongoing training requirements, as assigned.
- Demonstrate effective positive classroom management skills
- Uphold school policies and rules
