Art Teacher in Tonawanda, NY

Salary Range: $46,138 - $53,414

Erie 1 BOCES seeks an Art Teacher for our Northtowns Academy. The Northtowns Academy serves Grades K-8 State and Alternatively Assessed Students. Candidates must be NYS certified as an Art teacher. Special Education experience is preferred, but Special Education Certification is not required. Qualities sought include being highly creative, a strong communicator and personally engaging. Applicants should have a positive outlook, a strong work ethic and be compassionate. Duty locations are split between WNY CPC and Northtowns Academy.

General Responsibilities:
To develop a cultural literacy necessary for a competitive adult life. To maintain each student in the alternative school setting. To see each student exit the program with a diploma in hand or return successfully to his/her home school. Instruction in Art in alignment with the NYS learning standards.

Job Qualifications:
- Must hold valid New York State Teacher Certification in Art K-12
- Experience in special education is preferred but not required. Special Education Certification not required.
