Responsibilities:
ADVANCEMENT STRATEGY, DONOR RELATIONS & FUNDRAISING:
• Lead the active solicitation and relationship building with various funders including but not limited to individual donors, the community, foundations and corporations to help achieve the organizations fundraising goals.
• Implement and manage the organization’s fundraising plan including major gifts, annual giving, legacy giving, bequests, capital campaigns and collaborate with the grant team on grant funding.
• Develop a strategic plan for advancement that encompasses a comprehensive strategy around short-term, mid-term, long-term development goals and metrics for measuring the team's effectiveness in assigned areas.
• Create and implement a formal process in collaboration with the finance department for reporting funds raised through appeals, special events, campaigns or any other funding source.
• Develop and implement an integrated, structured Annual Fund for operational, medical and non-medical programmatic support.
• Formalize and strategically design a Major Gifts Program, working closely with the CEO, COO, CSO and other key stakeholders that includes but is not limited to the following components; program structure & goals, donor identification and research, cultivation strategies, solicitation plans, stewardship and recognition, staffing and leadership involvement, ongoing education and training, communication strategy, corporate gifts strategy and specific thresholds for gift amounts.
• Thoughtfully review and provide a comprehensive evaluation, action plan, and timeline regarding the crucial resources needed by the advancement department to effectively implement the strategic plan.
• In collaboration with the finance and compliance department, develop and manage the organization's fundraising policies and procedures ensuring that gaps are identified and policies are implemented.
• Build & manage relationships with funders including but not limited to foundations, corporations, community members, individuals and families; utilizing Razors Edge, identify and build a portfolio of prospect donors for progression through the donor cycle with goals leading to intentional solicitation and stewardship.
• Monitor and evaluate all fundraising activities and events to ensure that budgets, fundraising goals, and timelines are met.
• Work jointly with the Events & Development Manager to manage funder relationships and solicit support where applicable.
• Make public appearances and accept speaking engagements to promote the mission and work of Jericho Road Community Health Center.
• Ensure clear understanding of federal, state, local and all other regulatory and ethical standards of conduct related to charitable solicitation as defined by the Association for Fundraising Professionals.
SUPERVISION
• Coaches, supervises, and evaluates advancement team and ensures departmental responsibilities and functions have structure and measurable goals.
• Provides guidance to reports and tracks performance against advancement strategic plan.
• Communicates regularly with advancement team to strategize about status of stewardship, prospecting, proposals, and appeals; evaluates areas needing focus and growth.
• Provide bi-weekly timecard approvals and approving time off requests that are scheduled without compromising department support for organization.
• Conduct 30, 60, 90 day and annual performance evaluations for direct reports
ADMINISTRATION
• Ensure that Blackbaud Razors Edge (donor database) and Donor Search (wealth screening tool) are effectively managed and utilized to support the organization's fundraising goals with a strong focus on data integrity, analysis, relationship management and compliance.
• Produce reports for the Chief Executive Officer to demonstrate donor progression and progress on all goals as specified in the advancement plan.
• Hold weekly or biweekly prospects move management sessions with those managing donor portfolio’s or key volunteers to strategize on solicitations.
• Work with Marketing and Communications Manager on the production of all major development publications, focusing on relevant campaigns and donor relationships.
• Provide oversight of print and electronic marketing materials.
• Oversee and ensure that donations are being recorded properly, and that acknowledgments via thank you letters, calls, emails or any other mechanism are being completed and recorded in a timely fashion in Blackbaud Razors Edge (donor database).
• Utilize email to inform constituents and/or the general public of current development related events, in collaboration with the Events and Development Coordinator.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3+ years of fundraising/management experience
• Commitment to mission, vision, and values of JRCHC
• Passion for partnership building, partner engagement and fund development
• Experienced in making financial asks
• Donor database management experience preferred but not required
Salary: $80,000.00 annually. Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate,
including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
