Join our team, supporting the Erie County Agricultural Society at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

Maintenance Team:
The Erie County Agricultural Society’s (ECAS) maintenance team is growing! We are seeking a highly motivated full-time Electrician to join our team. In this role, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the setup of trade shows and tackling various electrical projects, including upgrades and new construction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Reading and interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams
• Installing and maintaining electrical wiring, control systems, and lighting
• Inspecting and installing circuit breakers and transformers
• Identifying electrical problems using a variety of testing devices
• Repairing or replacing wiring, equipment, or fixtures
• Following state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code
• Performing preventive maintenance on electrical systems
• Communicating with promoters, coworkers, and contractors to ensure electrical systems meet specifications
• Completing job reports and ordering supplies as needed
• Set up & take down trade shows, temporary power wiring & calculate power needs
• Knowledge of communications: cat5/cat6, lighting and HVAC control systems
• Trained in PPE and ability to follow safety procedures
• Able to troubleshoot low volt DC 24v & AC systems 120/240v, 120/208v, 277/480v, 1 phase, and 3 phase (including high voltage up to 13k volts or willing to learn)
• Able to bend EMT & PVC conduits
• Knowledge of portable generator installation and generator load calculations
• Must be flexible and help where needed (carpentry, plumbing, snow removal, barn clean out, etc.)

Qualifications:
• Valid journeyman electrician’s certification or proven experience as an electrician (minimum 5 years preferred).
• Valid driver’s license
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, tools, and equipment used in commercial settings.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices
• Ability to read & understand blueprints and electric line diagrams
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Physical ability to perform job-related tasks, including lifting, carrying, and pushing 75lbs, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, based on event schedules.

Reports to: Facilities Manager
Hours: Full time from 7:30 am-4:00 pm; Must be able and willing to work evenings and weekends for special events, including all twelve days of the Erie County Fair each August
Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Wage Range:
$24-$28 per hour
