Salary Range: $50,000 to $73,000 based on experience

South Buffalo Charter School is looking for a Human Resources Manager

The Human Resources Manager reports directly to the Superintendent and performs duties not limited to recruiting staff, completing new hire procedures/paperwork, payroll functions, and other administrative duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

This summary provides examples of typical tasks performed in this classification.

• Acts as the point of contact for employee concerns, benefit questions, and foster a positive work environment.
• Responsible for onboarding new hires/as well as termination of employees; HR management system, payroll system, benefits systems, etc.
• Completes semi-monthly payroll preparation and transmittal
• Prepare weekly and month-end payroll entries.
• Responsible for semi-monthly retirement contribution submission, and monthly NYSTRS submission
• Manages FMLA, 403b, NYSTRS, and related files and reporting.
• Maintains employee records, benefits, COBRA, benefits reporting.
• Facilitates background checks, employee fingerprinting, TEACH system, and other compliance tasks.
• Provides vendors with appropriate documentation for life insurance, 403B, and disability benefits claims.
• Responds to Verification of Employment inquiries.
• Implement training programs necessary to be compliant for school and state requirements.
• Remains current on HR policies, contracts, handbook, labor laws and all required regulations.
• Assists in annual audit preparation related to employees and benefit information.
• Cross-trained in the functions of the Business Manager and Accounts Specialist
• Assists with Local, State, and Federal Grants.
• Performs special projects as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent and/or Business Manager

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• College Bachelors Degree
• Minimum of 2-5 years Human Resource and payroll related experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Preferred but not required Professional HR Certification (i.e. SHRM)
• Preferred but not required Notary Public
• Pay range $50,000 to $73,000
