Maintenance - Seasonal in Hamburg, NY

Salary Range: $17.00-$19.00/hr.

Join our team, supporting the Erie County Agricultural Society at the Hamburg Fairgrounds.

Maintenance Team:
The Erie County Agricultural Society’s Maintenance team is growing! We are Seeking a few highly motivated individuals to assist our current team in a wide variety of daily tasks as our maintenance team maintains and assists all events on grounds all year long including Buffalo Raceway, Showplex, Ag. Discovery Center, Grange, Expo, Event Center, and Hamburg Gaming to name a few.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist Maintenance crews in a variety of daily tasks, some examples, not limited to: moving furniture, setting up for weekly events and shows, cleaning up after shows, (including stall clean out), including ability to work with our trades onsite: plumbing, electrical, telecommunications, paint, mechanics, Carpentry, and potential snow removal.
• Demonstrate a strong desire to learn from all our trades onsite and grow with in role
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently in their entirely within given time frames
• Adapt to changing priorities and assist in other maintenance tasks.
• Assist Landscape crew in: Flower Bed preparation, Planting, Weeding, Watering, Leaf clean up, irrigation, pond cleaning, and Maintaining Grounds.
• Ability to spot a problem across grounds and bring to our attention
• Willing to keep our grounds beautiful, cleaning trash is a team effort amongst all.

Qualifications:
• Valid driver’s license and transportation
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings based on event schedules
• Able to follow rules and safety procedures
• Knowledge of basic hand tools
• Ability to operate basic power tools
• Self-motivated with strong work ethic and attention to details
• Physical capability to perform job related tasks, including:
*Lifting, carrying, and pushing up to 75lbs
*Climbing ladders, and lifts
*Standing, Bending, and kneeling for extended periods
*Working in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and wet environments

Reports to: Facilities Manager
Hours: Part time, seasonal between hours of: 7:30am-4pm
Classification: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Wage Range:
$17-$19 per hour
