Public Information Assistant in Sanborn, NY

Salary Range: $40,000 to 45,000

Anticipated initial assignment is to be at the Orleans/Niagara BOCES Technology Center, Sanborn, NY.
The individual will assist the senior member of the Public Relations Department to develop and execute strategic communications plans across multiple platforms for multiple audiences, with particular emphasis on creating high-quality messages and content that informs families and other key stakeholders about district news, events, and initiatives for our component districts.
The individual will write content at different readability levels to meet the needs and interests of readers from diverse backgrounds, including students, parents, community partners, staff members and educators.
The individual will develop with a graphic designer content for different platforms, including printed documents of various lengths (from flyers and brochures to newsletters, calendars, capital improvement projects and reports).
The individual must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
The candidate must have a professional demeanor with strong ethical standards.
The individual must have experience in writing and proofreading for newspapers, publications, and social media, and be familiar with Adobe creative suite and Microsoft Office applications.
The individual must be able to work independently on multiple projects and work towards critical deadlines.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a broad range of people and teams.
Regular attendance and dependability are required.
Some travel is required, to cover events.
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Assignment is subject to change.
Estimated Annual salary range: $40,000 to 45,000.
