Salary Range: $38-$39/ hourly based on experience

Roswell Park Care Network is looking for a Urology Registered Nurse (RN)

Essential Duties:
• Explain normal and abnormal test/lab results to patients and their families.
• Educate patients regarding medications, invasive and non-invasive procedures.
• Assess patient needs and act as liaison between the providers and patients to communicate health information
• Arrange for patient testing, referrals, and/or hospital admission as appropriate.
• Enter orders into the EMR system following the organization’s policies and procedures and following the providers written direction.
• Complete appropriate and thorough documentation in a timely fashion.
• Participate in the triage of patients; answering patient calls, assisting patients to determine the urgency of care required, work with the providers, serving as a liaison to provide health
information and advice.
• Performs nursing assessment that includes the holistic needs of each patient with consideration of his/her physiological, psychological, social, ethnic, cultural, educational and spiritual
strengths and needs. Includes the patient and family and/or support system in the planning and delivery of care.
• Provides direct patient care activities with other professional disciplines to ensure that the plan of nursing intervention is consistent with and integrated with the total treatment plan
• Administers medications in a safe and efficient manner following established policies and procedures ?
• Demonstrates knowledge of and indications for dosage, route, action, side effects, contraindications, and adverse reactions of medication

Requirements

Education
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Requirements
• license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers

Experience
• 1 year of EMR Software (Medent/Onco/Allscripts/Soarian)
• Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft software
